    What's Happening

    • Happy New Year Everyone – Let’s Make This Our Best Year Ever!
      • New Year just makes its entry,
Resolve to lose weight and look pretty,
But then friends invited to go party,
Continue to eat, drink and take selfie.

Wake up early in the morning felt shitty,
        People start calling me fatty,
Can’t help looking like a potty,
        So avoid eating too meaty.

Signed up dancing class, feeling healthy,
Trying hard to stay hot and sexy,
After class start to feel hungry,
There goes my belly, eating too cheesy.

        Back to work in January,
Still in holiday mood after festivity,
Tasks keep pilling but feel lazy,
Better add oil before boss gets angry.

Ready to go full steam finally,
Then comes Gong Xi Gong Xi,
        Holiday mood datang lagi,
        So tempted to take MC.

Time to makan cake and cookie,
Not to forget to give angpao money,
        Dinner with friends and family,
Eat yee sang until diarrhea mari.

First day of work in February,
Put on office skirt, start the day early,
Eh, why skirt so ketat suddenly,
Pretend it shrunk after washing repeatedly.

Stop by ATM because purse empty,
Account balance what a sob story,
After all the makan-makan, duit habis already,
All the prosperity transferred to the body!

If you want 2017 to be your year, don’t just sit on the couch and wait for it. The past is a waste paper, the present is a newspaper, and the future is a question paper. Come out from your past, control the present, and secure the future. Go out. Make a change. Be Confident. Be Brave.

    • Ever thought which is your dream car?
      • What do you think about BMW X6 model? They named it, PATHSETTER.
Frankly, I know nuts about cars not even a bicycle. Yet, I just couldn’t help falling in love with BMW X6 the moment it appeared in front of my eyes. I still remember the first time I saw it on the road, handsomely in the redlicious color (to be exact, the Flamenco Red brilliant effect) with fully tinted windows.

Why X6? Guess what. I love the X6’s high ‘butt’ design! The presence of X6 just reflects my ideal car sportiness of a coupé. Broad. Muscular. Dynamic. Just these 3 words simply describe it all.

Looking at X6 reminds me of my Senior Manager whom I extremely look upon as the perfect mentor to achieve my dream. Physically muscular and ‘big-in-size’. Mentally Strong and dynamically a prominent employee of the company.

Moving on, I want to be my own ‘Pathsetter’ too. A highly respected employee in the Management level where I could stand firm on the ground with full authorities to execute decision rightfully and gracefully. Even though age might be catching up, but it shall never be a stopper for me to contribute vigorously in building my career path. Just like X6 where it is technically designed with Powerful and energetic combination that makes this Sports Activity Coupé so unique.

Words could not express the excitement I sense seeing X6 on the road and I tell myself that one fine day I will be like X6. Astonishingly attractive on the outside while intelligently robust inside.

What’s your dream car like then?

    • How to Save More and Spend Less
      • In today’s economy, saving money is a top priority for many individuals and families. Enacting money-saving measures can help families prepare for a brighter future.

However, I still find quite a number of people facing difficulties to save including myself, sadly. The human desire to own almost anything under the roof is just too strong to resist. What’s more with the existence of credit card which conveniently allow us to purchase things upfront without spending any cash during that time especially online shopping.

In contrast to various reports gathered back in Mar 2016, there are significant large figure of about 90% or more (online) consumers are shopping online in Malaysia. How many of us actually surf the e-shopping portals and successfully leave the site with empty cart? I am sure most of the time, we end up buying something with the thought of “this is cheaper than getting in store”, “I can save more since I have discount code” and etc.

Why not let’s start to fill up our “piggy bank” for good in 2017. I know cutting back on a daily budget can be difficult but is certainly not impossible with some simple yet practical cost-cutting measures that anyone can use to save money. Here are 5 tips that provide easy ways to save money on a day-to-day basis:

        1. Bundle your car, home and life insurance. Consult your insurance agent if you will receive a discount for bundling policies. Do shop around and see if you can find the cheapest car insurance rate quotes out there based on your requirements before renewing an insurance policy.

        2. Evaluate your TV and Internet needs. Carefully evaluate whether or not you really need these services before committing to a lengthy contract of full package subscription or any broadband plans. Look for less-expensive options and keep your eyes open for special promotions and deals.

        3. Purchase a family phone plan. Most individuals consider a cell phone an absolute necessity. You can save on cell phone costs by purchasing a family phone plan while you can carefully monitor the usage of each family member.

        4. Consider to let go your preloved items which are still in good conditions online where you can save up some cost if you are considering to purchase similar new items. There a large number of such mobile apps and groups found in the social media like Facebook where you can conveniently join in and start selling your preloved stuffs instantly.

        5. Keep yourself updated with as much upcoming events and promotions as possible. Check out Empire State great offers here more often. You may also opt to join retailer email lists. No one likes having his or her inbox flooded with junk mail. However, joining retailer email lists is an effective way to stay in touch with current sales and promotions.

    • The 5 common types of bosses you may meet in an organization
      • Which boss is better? Younger or elder? More pro-active or passive? More dominant or recessive?

My years of experience working in software house have led me to face many types of bosses. Some were a pain to deal with, but fortunately that I had mostly good ones to look after me. As I moved into sales and marketing, I noticed that bosses tend to be particularly more inclined to build a good rapport with the sales people.

Somehow, most Management level naturally think that sales teams were the crux of a firm, and therefore, bosses made sure that the sales persons were well taken care. In fact, the sales department is not just enjoying it all the hunky-dory; it’s also the sales team members who had to bear the brunt of a boss’s wrath. Especially when things don’t go their way, that’s where the real side of the boss revealed. Challenging ya?

Bosses (not leaders – there is a difference) are humans too. They have their preferences and dislikes and if you play your cards well, you will be able to work not only for them, but also with them. During my career years, I met employees who never performed well, yet they still managed to survive in their positions because they knew how to be in the boss’s good books.

        1. The Boss with the Superiority Complex
He just loves screaming. A high-pitched boss has superiority complex behavior, and believes that others are always wrong. A very edgy character by nature, he doesn’t like and doesn’t intend to dwell into root cause of a problem when it arose. Instead he takes solace from the fact that he has scolded someone, and hence, he has prevented the mistake from re-occurring. Many of you may have certainly come across such bosses. Even before he has said a word, he has successfully made you feel edgy and worried about what he is going to say next.

        2. The Boss who Brandishes His Power
Taking pride in utilizing all the authority he can have, not just in office as well as at home. A power-brandishing boss loves wearing the mask of a boss and walks like the ‘King of Gambler’. He believes that bosses are the highest-regarded professionals in the world with the thought of complete in control of any situation in an organization, even when in reality he is not. His overtly possessive of his post reflects his insecurity causing some smart employees to do hanky panky action within the organization when he is just too preoccupied with other unnecessary controlling works.

        3. The Boss who Doesn’t Belong
This boss gives you an impression that he has been thrown into a post that he is not even fit minimally. Commonly, he is a senior employee in the company who had been promoted to be a ‘boss’ without the relevant qualities. However, he is definitely the person management had to depend on since there are no other better options. Most of the time, it is noticeable that half of his motivational speeches in office meetings contain a list of his past achievements, while the rest is utter claptrap. In most employees’ eyes, he is the joker of an organization when suggested ideas are not even possibly being achieved by himself as the Boss. The lack of confidence and management skills is his biggest setback even though the truth he is hard working.

        4. The Boss who Intimidates
An intimidating boss is a no-nonsense boss, aggressive by nature, and tries to get things done by issuing commands. He has the entire ego you can name it, and keeps it with him while he is in the office. Sometimes you will feel that he is trying to run the show as if he is running a criminal gang.
His actions are always seen threatening to employees, however, he rarely goes overboard. This is because he is feeling insecure and fearful of losing his grip on the employees with too much of intimidation, resulting in overlooked mistakes by his employees. He is one reserved person by nature.

        5. The Boss who Excels and Influences
Ideally, he is the best boss to have running a company as he handles both the management and his employees efficiently. Every company prefers this type of bosses because they have positive vibes about themselves, and make the company believe that they can produce results even in the midst of a crisis.
They mean business in every action executed be it the harsh or polite way. Nevertheless, not all influential bosses are inspiring, but they have the guile to make others perform to their limits. Such boss is highly efficient and professional with expectations on employees to behave similarly in order to achieve the objective in the shortest period of time.

In essence, we may not always be so lucky to work with good leaders but we indefinitely have to work with a boss, the head of an organization or the manager of a group of workers. At the end of the day, employees don’t choose to leave the jobs or companies, they leave their bosses.

So what is your boss like, and how do you deal with your boss?

    • Comprehensive Tips for Choosing a Car Repair Shop
      • Choosing the right car repair shop is like finding a family doctor. Since you cannot trust just any doctor with your health, similarly you cannot rely on simply anyone with your car or some Chinese named it as their ‘second-wife’. Finding the best car repair shop within Klang Valley has always been a challenging job, especially when they are of abundance in your area with high competency in price.

Following are some useful tips to help you choose the right car repair shop for your vehicle:

        1. Ask Your Friends and Relatives:
The best way to decide on the right repair shop is to ask your friends and relatives. If they trust a particular car repair shop, so can you. If they tell you, a certain mechanic or repair shop gave them high estimates or didn’t live up to their expectations, you can avoid them. Your friends’ opinion will also aid in narrowing down the options you have in mind.

        2. Make Comparisons:
Take your vehicle to a few different auto repair shops or contact them online and ask their opinions about your car. It is recommended to go with the one that gives you the most professional opinion which you are most comfortable with. You may want to judge their friendliness in assisting you as well.

        3. Get Estimates:
Do not forget to ask for a rough estimate when you query online or at the workshop. A good car repair shop will inspect your vehicle and instantly tell you how much a certain repair will cost you when you are physically there. Even for online inquiry, an auto repair professional is able to quote based on their past experiences. If an auto repair shop hesitates in giving you an honest estimate, it simply means they either cannot be trusted for their skills or they are judging customers’ business by its cover.

        4. Start with a Small Job:
As you complete your research and finalize a good repair shop within your list, test them with a small job like a simple oil change or brake repair. If the service and cost satisfy you, you can count on them in the future too.

        For a higher-level tip:

        5. Look for a Certificate:
There are numerous auto repair shops out there that have the latest equipment’s and tools for car maintenance and repair, but they don’t have a certificate. A certificate proves the technicians and mechanics are trained and can be trusted with your car. Certifications that you can look up for include manufacturers’ certification from Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi etc.; ASE certifications; trade school diplomas; or any prior technical education.

        6. Check the Insurance:
To play safe, look for a car repair shop that is insured when comes to major car repair. You will never want to imagine What if the technician accidently damages your car’s engine compartment while cleaning it? What if the whole repair shop falls down while your car’s still in there? I am pretty sure that most of us would not want to pay for the damages which you weren’t even responsible for. In situations like these, insurance company is a savior as they will cover all the damages done to your vehicle. Choosing an insured repair shop not only gives you a peace of mind, but also increases your faith on the workshop for the protection they are committed to provide for your valuable possession.

        7. Request for Referrals:
When you pay a visit to any car repair shop including their website, don’t shy away from asking the names and contacts of their old customers for your own reference. You may want to give a friendly call to a few and humbly check out about their experience with the workshop. Real life customer survey is always more reliable and accurate to judge an auto repair shop service.
